TULIPANI is a comedy drama centred around the strong-minded Dutch farmer, Gauke (Gijs Naber), who, after losing his farm during the floods of 1953, is determined to never have wet socks again. In pursuit of his quest, Gauke cycles to the sizzling hot South of Italy to start a new life on the outskirts of a small village in Puglia. Gauke's fairylike trek and miraculous tulip trade, combined with his passionate love-life and turbulent scuffles with the dubious local business practices, raise him to legendary local hero status - only to then suddenly disappear. Thirty years later, the young Canadian woman Anna (Ksenia Solo), embarks on her own personal journey of discovery to uncover the truth of the past where she finds love along the way, while skirting a possible criminal record with the local police inspector (Giancarlo Gianinni).
