Warm welcome at 29° Tokyo International Film Festival for 7 minuti by Michele Placido, selected in Competition. Two of the extraordinary stars of the almost all-femalecast, spoke to the press about the experience of shooting with famed director Michele Placido on this story of workers who attempt to save their jobs at a small factory, when presented with an unusual proposal from its new owners. Noting that the riveting scenes of negotiation were filmed with multiple cameras, legendary actress Ottavia Piccolo noted, “I haven’t acted in film for quite a few years, since I’ve been focusing more on theater. The style of shooting felt like a theatrical performance. Each one of us had to be completely immersed in our role, and it gave us a lot of power.” Echoing a sentiment that her film character may have shared, Ambra Angiolini, told the audience, “My father is a worker and my mom used to work for a long time. Being a worker means that you have a heart, and it’s important to have a heart.”
Variety reviewed the film at Tokyo and defined it "gripping, for such an apparently unsexy subject, and surprisingly cinematic".
The Jury includes Valerio Mastandrea, together with President Jean-Jacques Beineix, directors Cheung and Hideyuki Hirayama and producer Nicole Rocklin.
