Selections for IDFA Documentary Festival Amsterdam

Istituto Luce - Cinecittà, will collaborate this year for the first time with the IDFA - Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (15-26 November 2017) for the Italian selections.
These are the main guidelines of the selections:
* IDFA Competition for Feature-Length Documentary, for documentaries lasting over 70' minutes. Only World, International and European premieres are eligible, with priority for World Premieres. National release, theatrical or TV broadcasting are allowed. Documentaries who have had an Internet or homevideo release are NOT eligible. An international jury will screen films and will select the winner of the IDFA Award for Best Feature Length Documentary and the IDFA Special Jury Award for Feature-Length Documentary
* IDFA Competition for First Appearance: Documentaries presented in this section must be longer than 70' minutes and must be first or second works (both fiction and non-fiction films are counted) This section can only access World, International and European premieres, while the national release, theatrical or TV broadcast is allowed. Documentaries who have had an Internet or homevideo release are NOT eligible. The prizes, awarded by an international jury, will be two: the IDFA Award for Best First Appearance and the IDFA Special Jury Award for First Appearance, in memory of Peter Wintonick.
* IDFA Competition for Mid-Length Documentary: section dedicated to documentaries lasting between 40' and 70' minutes. Only World, International and European premieres are eligible, with priority for World Premieres. National release, theatrical or TV broadcasting are allowed. Documentaries who have had an Internet or homevideo release are NOT eligible. An international jury of 5 members will evaluate the documentaries presented and will select the winner of the IDFA Award for Best Mid-Length Documentary and the IDFA Special Jury Award for Mid-Length Documentary
Documentaries must be produced after August 1, 2016.
Films presented in the past selections, though altered considerably, cannot be re-released.

We remind you that the documentaries proposed by us will be exempt from paying the admission fee. To have your waiver code you will need send a request to the following email address, however no later than Friday 30 July, specifying the title, direction and duration.
