Istituto Luce Cinecittà-Filmitalia is organizing the Italian selections for the Rotterdam and Goteborg festivals.
49th International Film Festival Rotterdam, January 22nd January - February 2nd 2020.
The Festival programmer Gerwin Tamsma will be our guest in Rome November 6th to 7th in order to select Italian films.
General Rules for Eligibility - Submission to the Festival is open to feature films, creative documentaries, experimental films (minimum length 60 minutes) and short films and innovative visual productions for digital media completed after 1 January 2019
The Festival gives priority to world and international premieres; films that have already been shown in The Netherlands are not admitted. Films previously submitted to the Festival and not selected will not be reconsidered for the 2019 Festival.
Sections:
BRIGHT FUTURE
· The Hivos Tiger Award Competition
First, second or third time directors of a feature length film, 60 minutes or longer. The film should have its World premiere in Rotterdam.
Eight films will compete in the Hivos Tiger Award Competition for a single Hivos Tiger Award worth €40,000, to be shared by director and producer. In addition, a special jury award worth €10,000 will be presented to an exceptional artistic achievement within the competition.
· Bright Future Main Programme
Debut and second features or documentaries directed by new and rising authors. World or international premieres competing for the Impact Cinema Bright Future Award, 10.000 € to spend for the further project.
· Bright Future Mid-Lenght
Not competitive section for 10 mid-lenght films (40 to 62 minutes).
VOICES
· VPRO Big Screen Award Competition, 8 art-house movies will compete for the Big Screen Award, 15.000 € for the director and 15.000 € to spend for the theatrical release.
LIMELIGHT
Avant-premieres of some of the cinematic highlights of the year: international award-winners and festival favourites that will be released in Dutch cinemas after IFFR.

Drawing upon cinematic memories
PERSPECTIVE
The section where IFFR’S main thematic programme is presented is presented and relevant social and political issue are investigated in cinema.
BANKGIRO LOTERIJ AUDIENCE AWARD
All feature length films, having received their first public screening after 1 January 2020, are eligible for the BankGiro Loterij Audience Award, chosen by the audience of the festival. The prize comprises €10,000.
If you submit the film through ISTITUTO LUCE – CINECITTA’ you do not need to fill the entry form online and pay the entry fee.
We kindly ask you to send the English subtitled DVD or Blu-ray or a link of the titles you would like to submit with a press book not later than Wednesday, October 30th 2019 to our office at the following address:

43rd Göteborg Film Festival, January 24 - February 3, 2020.
The Head of International Programme Johan Blomqvist will be our guest in Rome from November 11th to 12th.
The competitive sections for international films are:
· The Ingmar Bergman Competition, for feature films by first and second time directors. The length must be 50 minutes or longer.
· International Competition – open for all feature films and documentaries. The length must be 50 minutes or longer
The festival also present focuses and out of competition sections, such as:
Gala, Masters, Visionaries, New Voices, Five Continents
To be considered for the festival 2020 the submitted film must have had its first public screening after January 1, 2019.
Please note that any screening of the film in Sweden prior to the Festival automatically disqualifies the film from participating in the Göteborg Film Festival.
