Istituto Luce Cinecittà-Filmitalia is organizing the Italian selections for the Rotterdam and Goteborg festivals.

50th International Film Festival RotterdamJanuary 27th - February 7th, 2021.
The Festival programmer Gerwin Tamsma will be our guest in Rome from October 28th to 30th in order to select Italian films.
General Rules for Eligibility - Submission to the Festival is open to feature films, creative documentaries, experimental films (minimum length 60 minutes) and short films and innovative visual productions for digital media completed after 1 January 2020
The Festival gives priority to world and international premieres; films that have already been shown in The Netherlands are not admitted. Films previously submitted to the Festival and not selected will not be reconsidered for the 2021 Festival.
Sections:
* The Tiger Competition - First, second or third time directors of a feature length film, 60 minutes or longer. The film should have its World premiere in Rotterdam. 12 films will compete in the Tiger Competition. The Tiger Award is accompanied by a €40,000 cash prize, to be shared between the director and producer of the winning film. A Special Jury Award worth €10,000 will also be presented for an exceptional artistic achievement within the competition.
* Bright Future - Debut and second features or documentaries directed by new and rising authors in world or international premieres
· VPRO Big Screen Award Competition, 12 art-house movies will compete for the Big Screen Award, 15.000 € for the director and 15.000 € to spend for the theatrical release.
* Harbour - IFFR’s newest section, and now its largest programme. This programme reflects the multidimensional nature of Rotterdam and its festival as a safe haven. It is the main base for the diverse and quality films that the festival wants to show to the world.
* Limelight - IFFR’s section for highlights of the year in arthouse, and a preview for theatrical releases of the year.
* Cinema Regained - a showcase reflecting on the living history of cinema.

44th Göteborg Film Festival, January 29 - February 7, 2021
This year the Head of International Programme Johan Blomqvist will not be our guest in our office in Rome, but he will receive the link screener of the film that you will like to submit through Istituto Luce Cinecittà.
Submission to the Festival is open to feature films, creative documentaries and experimental films of minimum length 60 minutes.
The competitive sections for international films are:
* The Ingmar Bergman Competition, for feature fiction films by first and second time directors.
* International Competition – open for all feature films and documentaries.
The festival also present focuses and out of competition sections, such as: Gala, Masters, Visionaries, Five Continents
To be considered for the 44th Göteborg Film Festival the submitted film must have had its first public screening after July 1, 2020.
Please note that any screening of the film in Sweden prior to the Festival automatically disqualifies the film from participating in the Göteborg Film Festival.
If you submit your film through ISTITUTO LUCE – CINECITTA’ you do not need to fill the entry form online and pay the fee.
