Istituto Luce Cinecittà, Filmitalia Dept., is pleased to host the Italian selections for the 74° Locarno Film Festival, August 4 - 14, 2021.

Participation rules:
For all the sections, the films must have been made after January 1, 2020, they must be World or International Premieres and they must not have been shown at any other International Festival.
PIAZZA GRANDE - feature films and documentaries intended for a mainstream audience.
CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE - a selection of fiction feature films, documentaries, or animated films over 60 minutes in length. This panorama of contemporary auteur cinema includes films by young talents alongside work by established filmmakers.
CONCORSO CINEASTI DEL PRESENTE - reserved for first and second full-length features over 60 minutes. This section offers a selection of films as world or international premieres, ranging from documentary to fiction and including the most hybrid and up-to-date forms of cinematic creativity.
FUORI CONCORSO - recent works – feature films and shorts, film essays and documentaries – by well-established filmmakers
Required materials for the selections: a link, together with technical data or publicity material. The English subtitles are not necessary for this stage of selections.
Film submission: it is not necessary to register the film and pay the fee. We kindly ask you to send the links no later than Wednesday, April 21th to:
