Selections for IDFA Documentary Festival Amsterdam

Cinecittà, organizes the Italian selections for the next IDFA - Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (14th - 24th November 2024).
Laura van Halsema, Senior Programmer of the festival, will be our guest to watch this year’s submissions from July 8th through the 9th, 2024.
These are the main guidelines of the selections:
* IDFA has two main competitions: International Competition and Envision Competition. In addition to these, there are the IDFA Competition for Short Documentary and IDFA Competition for Youth Documentary sections
* Each contest has its own awards:
International: best film, best director, best cinematography and best editing
Envision: best film, best director, award for outstanding artistic contribution
There are also three awards, independent of the section in which the film was selected: best first feature documentary (60 minutes and up), best Dutch film and best film with creative use of archival footage.
These three additional awards are cross sectional and could also come out of Luminous and Frontlight sections.
Films must have been completed after July 15, 2023
Films presented in the past selections, though altered considerably, cannot be submitted again and will not be considered. Films that have already been submitted for this edition are NOT eligible for this call.

We remind you that the documentaries proposed by us will be exempt from paying the admission fee but you still must fill the Entry Form >at this link< to complete the registration.
To have your waiver code you will need send a request to the following email address, however no later than Friday 5th July 2024, specifying the title, direction and duration.
