Cinecittà-Filmitalia is organizing the Italian selections for the 49th Göteborg Film Festival, January 23 - February 1, 2026. The Head of International Program, Johan Blomqvist, cannot come to Rome for the selection, and as the festival requested, we will collect the links of the films to be submitted.
Submission: open to fiction films, creative documentaries, and experimental films with a minimum length of 50 minutes.
The competitive sections for international films are:
· The Ingmar Bergman Competition – open for feature length fiction films by first- and second-time directors.
· International Competition – open for all feature length films.
Focuses and out of competition sections, such as:
Gala, Masters, Visionaries, Voyage.
Submitted films must have had its first public screening after June 30, 2025.
Submitted films must be available for Swedish premiere.
Films submitted to the Göteborg Film Festival’s previous editions and not selected will not be reconsidered.
If you submit the film through Cinecittà you do not need to fill the entry form online and pay the entry fee.
