Filmitalia bids a heartfelt farewell to Lili Hinstin, director of the Locarno film festival between 2018 and 2020, who passed away today at just 48 years old.
A cinephile and film enthusiast she completed part of her university education at Padua in Italy. She was the director of Film events at the French academy in Rome from 2005 to 2009. During her time at Locarno Film Festival, in 2019 she was responsible for selecting the debuts of filmmakers Maura Delpero with Maternal in International Competition and Ginevra Elkann’s If Only in Piazza Grande.
