The President of Audiovisual Industry Promotion Giovanni Galoppi commenting on the success of the film Private at the Toronto International Film Festival had this to say:

“We are particularly pleased to hear about the enormous success in Toronto of the film Private by Saverio Costanzo, co-produced by Istituto Luce. We were great prophets at Locarno in believing the Italian film in competition would be triumphant, and are certain that with films like this one, the “new” Italian cinema once more will reach the heights of success of it’s glorious past. In these especially difficult times on the International front, our hope is that stories such as this one prove to be a good omen for an increasing brotherhood amongst all nations”.
