After the success of Private, last night’s screening of L’amore ritrovato by Carlo Mazzacurati at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, received a standing ovation for more than 5 minutes, by the 2000 Canadians present at the Gala.
Adding to this excellent reception for the Italian film was the presence of the Director Carlo Mazzacurati and leading actress Maya Sansa who in Canada has earned notoriety also thanks to last year’s presentation at the Festival, of films like La meglio gioventù and Buongiorno, notte.
But the Canadian public also gave a very warm welcome to Le chiavi di casa by Gianni Amelio, which was screened last night in the multiplex Paramount, as well as the highly acclaimed Vento di Terra by Vincenzo Marra and other Italian films presented at the Festival, such as : Eros by Michelangelo Antonioni, Steven Soderbergh and Wong Kar Wai, and Ingannevole è il cuore, più di ogni cosa by Asia Argento.
