Washington, Italy 2004

October 18th, marked the conclusion of the 3rd Washington, Italia - The Italian Film Fest. The event organized by the Capri in the World Institute in collaboration with Cinecittà Holding, Rai Trade, the Lazio region and Union Camere. The “Ambassador” for the Italian delegation on the Washington trip, was Giancarlo Giannini , who in a conference held at the National Press Club, met up with an old colleague, actor, Ernest Borgnine ( Oscar winner in '56 for his role in the movie Marty); together with the President of Cinecittà Holding Carlo Fuscagni, as well as the President of Audiovisual Industry Promotion Giovanni Galoppi and Pascal Vicedomini, founder and director of the Washington ,Italia-Italian Film Fest.

Excellent reviews for the special screening at the Mpaa theater for the film The House Keys by Gianni Amelio and the short Lo sguardo di Michelangelo by Michelangelo Antonioni (appointed by the Academy of Los Angeles as the Italian Oscar nominees in 2005 ). Twenty Italian titles programmed for screenings at the Loews Cineplex in Georgetown, just to mention a few, Wherever you are by Michele Placido and Don’t Move by Sergio Castellitto, The Rest of Nothing by Antonietta De Lillo and two premiere screenings by young Italian directors, Fabio Segatori, presenting his film, Hollywood Flies, and Egidio Eronico, presenting My father: Rua Alguem 5555 ( attending the screening was Oscar winner F.Murray Abraham).
There was an official reception held at the Italian Embassy and the annual Niaf Gala Niaf, which this year honored Luciano Pavarotti Offical website for the event www.washingtonitalia.com
