November 30th is the opening night for the 28th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival which will take place on the banks of the river Nile, in the Egyptian capital’s Opera House, and runs through December 10th.
The 2004 edition of the Cairo Film Festival runs contemporarily with the Italian Med Film Festival.
An entire segment called, Guest of Honour- Italian Cinema, will host at least 41 Italian films, two of these will participate in the International Competition - Guardiani delle nuvole by Luciano Odorisio e Concorso di colpa by Claudio Fragasso – sixteen of the films are from our most recent film productions, the remaining twenty three films are a selection of Italian masterpieces, from Roma Città Aperta to Ultimo Imperatore.
An Italian delegation which will include the President of AIP-Filmitalia Giovanni Galoppi will attend the opening ceremony.
Presiding the International Jury, is Carlo Fuscagni President of Cinecittà Holding.
The Festival aims to be creative and promote a major understanding among the people of the world, hoping to act as a stimulus which will increase the development of the film industry, in the Mediterranean basin.
