Today’s Press conference for the Golden Grolle 2005, announces the agreement made with AIP-Filmitalia which designates three new awards, dedicated to the release of Italian films abroad.
"It could be said that from a geographical standpoint, these Italian awards are closest to the rest of the world, as the Grolles in 2005 finally acknowledge our films, for their International existence”. The three different prizes take into consideration the different avenues, the majority of films abroad will end up taking. From the exceptional visibility a film receives, when participating in the more prestigious festivals (by regulation FIPRESCI) (Golden Grolle for the highest number of screenings in foreign festivals) to the internationalization of an actual title, that is distributed in at least 20 countries (Golden Grolle for the highest selling Italian film abroad), to the prize which technically speaking is called 'in depth' and is awarded to the film which manages to hold, the longest duration of programmed screenings, in movie theatres (Golden Grolle for the most viewed film in a foreign country).
Since the subject matter is film, talents and products are not the only things being exported, as each time a 2.700m reel of film travels abroad, it also exports our stories, our faces and our dreams.
One tends to think that film, is the most suitable immigrant, with its share of memories and hopes.
AIP-Filmitalia will therefore be present at Saint Vincent assuring the participation of three exceptional travellers."
