
The Life I want di Giuseppe Piccioniwill represent Italy in the Panorama section of the Berlinale 2005. 
“I am very happy to be returning to Panorama in Berlin” declares Giuseppe Piccioni “where I competed in 1988 with my first film, The Big Blek. I feel at home in Germany, where my films have always found a distributor, infact for four weeks now, the Light of my Eyes has been in German theatres”.  Besides  The Life I Want in Panorama, also being presented is the short Wrestling Match by Stefano Viali. 
These two titles join  Smalltown,Italy by Stefano Mordini and The Sun by Aleksandr Sokurov also selected in Competition. 
Out of Competition, Master  Ermanno Olmi with Kiarostami and Loach presenting Tickets, coproduced by Fandango, while Mikado brings the coproduction Hotel Rwanda by  Terry George (musical score by  Andrea Guerra). 
Francis Birds Tour by  Clemens Klopfenstein, an Italian/Swiss coproduction, is programmed at the Forum. 
In the 14/Plus section of the KinderFilmFest, dedicated to the young audience, the film selected is  Saimir by Francesco Munzi. 
 Festival Tribute in honor of  Carlo Di Palma  in the Berlinale Special,  with the screening of the film Red Desert by Michelangelo Antonioni. 
Noteworthy  presence in the the great Italian author cinema, of the retrospective  “Production Design & Film”: And the Ship Sails On by Federico Fellini, The Spider’s Strategem by  Bernardo Bertolucci,  The Eclipse by Michelangelo Antonioni, Medea by Pier Paolo Pasolini. 
In the programme “Shooting Star”, coordinated by the European Film Promotion who each year in Berlin launches the new stars in European cinema, Giorgio Pasotti will be the leading artist representing Italy.
