Three Italian Films at the New Directors/New Films of New York

Italian cinema plays center stage among the new tendencies in International cinema at the 33rd edition of the New Directors/New Films of New York: Private by Saverio Costanzo, First Love by Matteo Garrone and Stolen Childhood by the Frazzi Brothers, are three titles which represent Italian cinema among the 22 International films being presented in the Festival’s 33rd edition.

The event, organized by the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York, this year will take place from March 23rd-April 3rd . In the past, it has brought to the attention of International critics, talents such as Quentin Tarantino, and continues to establish itself as the major event responsible for presenting the new tendencies of International cinema to the American public, as well as being closely followed by the American press and attentively patronized by film distributors.
In 2003, Italian cinema had already earned itself a prominent spot in the festival, after years of absence, having presented three films of exceptional quality: The Embalmer by Matteo Garrone, Angela by Roberta Torre e Grazia’s Island by Emanuele Crialese.
