The Italian Producer Elda Ferri received the award for European Producer of the Year, presented to her by Media Salles, at the Cinema Expo International 2005 that was held in Amsterdam.
The head of Jean Vigo productions is responsible for producing numerous films, including Roberto Benigni’s Life is Beautiful, and is the producer of his greatly anticipated and very latest film , The Tiger and the Snow. To name a few of the other films she has produced, The House Keys by Gianni Amelio, and Roberto Faenza’s last three films, Soul Keeper, Come Into the Light and his latest, I giorni dell’abbandono.
The film Come Into the Light was just presented in competition at the 40th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Festival. I The director and producer who were in attendance, received a very warm welcome on behalf of the audience.
Also taking place in Karlovy Vary, during these same dates, was the board meeting for the EFA-European Film Awards. Attended by Italian board members Adriana Chiesa Di Palma and Domenico Procacci, to discuss the details of the prize ceremony to be held in the first week of December, in Berlin.
