Luca Zingaretti’s interpretation of ”don Puglisi” is the Italian winner in the 2005 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival . The Jury divided the Best Actor award between Luca Zingaretti and Uri Gavriel, praising Zingaretti "for his portrayal of don Puglisi without sentimentalisms". This important acknowledgement follows the Best Film Awards received by Stolen Childhood and Facing Windowin the past two festival editions.
This once more confirms the great interest for Italian cinema, and is particularly significant here in Karlovy Vary , as together with the Moscow Film Festival, are known as the crossing point into Eastern European markets.
