Budapest: The Mittelcinemafest will show 14 Italian films in Hungary

Tomorrow kicks off the 3rd edition of MittelCinemaFest which from October 13-26 will present fourteen titles of our most recent cinematography: The Life I Want by Giuseppe Piccioni, Private by Saverio Costanzo, La febbre by Alessandro D’Alatri, Raul – Diritto di uccidere by Andrea Bolognini, Three Steps Dancing by Salvatore Mereu, The Munchies by Antonio Bocola and Paolo Vari, The House Keys by Gianni Amelio, When Do the Girls Show Up? by Pupi Avati, The Consequences of Love by Paolo Sorrentino, Cuore sacro by Ferzan Ozpetek, A Particular Silence by Stefano Rulli, Come Into the Light by Roberto Faenza, Answer Me by Susanna Tamaro and My Brother-in-Law by Alessandro Piva.
Organized by the Italian Cultural Insitute in Budapest, and Budapest Film, in collaboration with AIP-Filmitalia, ( whose contribution has led to the number of titles in this third edition to represent 14 , as opposed to the 5 titles which made up the first edition.) RAI Trade, several producers and film distributors (Medusa Film, Mikado Film, Duea Film, Pequod srl, Istituto Luce, Adriana Chiesa Enterprises, etc.). This Italian cinema festival not only will present titles from our most recent cinematography, but will also pay tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini commemorating the thirty year anniversary of his tragic death.
The screenings will be followed by discussions with the authors, directors and leading actors from the films in the programme- Luigi Lo Cascio, Alessandro D’Alatri, Andrea Bolognini, Paolo Briguglia, Vittoria Puccini, Roberto Faenza, Susanna Tamaro and Roberta Mazzoni – who together with the president of AIP-Filmitalia Giovanni Galoppi are the official Italian delegation that will be present at the Festival
The festival which takes place in one of the most beautiful theatres in Budapest, named Puskin cinema, represents Hungary’s most important showcase of Italian cinema. Contrary to what one believes, the Hungarian public is well acquainted with the Italian audiovisual, since the major television networks continue to broadcast programs such as, Incantesimo, Il Maresciallo Rocca, Don Matteo and The Best of Youth (which has now reached its third re-run).
Lastly, this year certain films from the programme will then be circulated among the following cities : Bratislava, Prague, Warsaw and Cracow.
