10 Italian films at Cape Town

There will be a total of ten Italian films ,which include coproductions, participating at the next Cape Town Film Festival in South Africa (November 11-20 ). Primarily dealing with productions from the ‘southern hemisphere’, the section World Cinema will feature both European and American Independent films.
“In competition” are : Private by Saverio Costanzo, and the Verdecchi coproduction Bal-Can-Can, by Darko Mitrevski. The section “A Desparate World” features The Passion of Joshua, the Jew by Pasquale Scimeca, When Do the Girls Show Up? by Pupi Avati, Mater Natura, Roberto Faenza’s Come Into the Light , and coproductions : 2046, by Wong Kar-Wai (Classic and Istituto Luce) and Vai e Vivrai, by Radu Mihaileanu (Cattleya). Presented as a Special Event , the collective work “All the invisibile Children directed by Emir Kusturica, Spike Lee, and Ridley Scott just to name a few, coproduced by Maria Grazia Cucinotta who also acts in the Italian segment of the film.
There is also a segment featuring the Italian short Aria directed by Claudio Noce.
Concurrently taking place as one of the major events in the African continent, is the Sithengi Film & Television Market (November 15-18), with the participation of 2200 delegates from over 46 world nations, 13 of them from Africa.
