La Febbre by Alessandro D’Alatri wins First Prize at the Festival of Seville.
The film which was presented in one of the five competition sections, Europa, Europa, was preferred over the 25 other films in competition, by the 65.000 spectators that turned out for this event. The film also received as part of the award the sum of 30.000 euro, which the Spanish distributor received as compensation for the film’s promotional and launch expenses.
The Italian prizewinners also include coproductions, the film Caché by Michael Haneke, coproduced by Valerio De Paolis’s B.I.M., was awarded 30.000 euro in the section Eurimages, and Gabrielle coproduced by Mikado, and directed by Patrice Chéreau.
The festival dedicated a retrospective to Patrice Chéreau, who received the “Giraldillo de Honor”.
