Italy At Tribeca 2006

New York’s young but already well renown International festival celebrating Independent films known as the Tribeca Film Festival is back to present its 5th edition. (April 25th to May 7th). The festival, conceived the day after September 11th by Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal, is under the direction of Peter Scarlet.
This year Italy will be represented by Romanzo Criminale by Michele Placido, presented in the section Spotlight which is dedicated to the best talents in International cinema, and by documentaries Viva Zapatero! by Sabina Guzzanti and Kill Gil by Gil Rossellini for the section Showcase which represents a selection of highlights from the latest major International festivals.
Finally, and again presented in the section Spotlight marking the 100th anniversary of Maestro Roberto Rossellini’s birth, we find the film written by his daughter Isabella My Dad is 100 Years Old directed by Canadian Guy Maddin.
