Sunday December 8th, director Carlo Luglio’s second feature film “Sotto la stessa luna wins first prize for Best Digital Film at the 30th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival.

Gaetano di Vaio, who co-prudced the film was on hand to pick up the "Golden Award" consisting of a cash prize of $10.000. The film which was presented in Competition at the 59th Locarno Film Festival also participated in this year’s Annecy Italian Film Festival where it received a Special Jury mention. It recently participated in NICE( New Italian Cinema Events ), with screenings in New York and San Francisco and succeeded in obtaining an American distribution for 2007.
The film centers around the everyday life of two young gypsies (Rom) who live in Scampia, a suburb of Naples, set in a Cammoristic background, where an ex boss on the road to repentance confronts a rising young boss and his group from the rival clan. Relocation is inevitable, if one is in search of a better life. "Sotto la stessa luna" is still waiting to obtain an Italian distribution.
