The 20th edition of the Tokyo International Film Festival has reserved a pleasant surprise for Italian cinema, selecting in competition the film by Salvatore Maira, Valzer, amongst the 16 other candidates. The film which earned favorable reviews at this year’s Venice Film Festival is currently being screened at the Rio International Film Festival and in October will be screening at the London Film Festival. Screening in World Cinema is the very lucky film by Daniele Luccetti, My Brother is an only child which by now has been featured in most of major film festivals around the world. Last but not least we find the co-production signed Fandango, Silk by François Girard, adapted from the novel by Alessandro Baricco. World famous music composer Nicola Piovani has been invited as a member of the International jury. The event begins October 20th and runs through October 28th.
