Third Edition of Contemporary Italian Film Showcase in Sao Paolo

Starting tomorrow, the third edition of the Third week of Contemporary Italian Cinema in Sao Paolo kicks off. The event which will take place in the Brazilian city, 4th largest city in the world will run from Septembre 26-October 3,2007. The event is organized by the Italo-Brazilian Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Sao Paolo in collaboration with Filmitalia, FAAP ( The University of Sao Paolo-Fundação Armando Álvares Pentendo) with FIES ( Industry Federation of the State of Sao Paolo) and with the Film Syndicate Industry of Brazil. Seven titles have been selected, all of them Brazilian premieres which offer a varied selection of the new Italian productions: N (Io e Napoleone) by Paolo Virzì, opening screening for the event, In memoria di me by Saverio Costanzo, Commediasexy by Alessandro D’Alatri, Liscio by Claudio Antonini, Tutte le donne della mia vita by Simona Izzo, Last minute Marocco by Francesco Falaschi and Ma che ci faccio qui ! by Francesco Amato. The event features several meetings between the Brazilian professionals and the Italian delegation who will be in Brazil to present the films in this third edition. This year’s delegation besides director Francesco Amato, actor Antonio Catania and journalist Anna Maria Pasetti, well known authorities in the Italian industry which are Lamberto Mancini, President of Cinecittà Studios, Laura delli Colli, President of SNGCI (National Syndicate of Italian Journalists ) and Rosanna Seregni, Vice President of API (Italian Producers Association). The event which aims to promote Italian culture through Film and Audiovisual media and increase the penetration and popularity of our cinema with the vast Brazilian audience , hope to contribute in creating an opportune moment for the sector’s economic development. The film showcase will be screened at the Iguatemi Cinemark Multiplex, the largest Film circuit in Brazil (304 movie theatres) situated within the most elegant Shopping Center of Sao Paolo.
