Recognition for Italian cinema at Sundance Film Festival, which is present in the International competition section "World Cinema" with Anna Negri’s Riprendimi, produced by Francesca Neri’s young production company Bess Movie.
The festival, founded by Robert Redford in 1981,only welcomes 16 films to this section, having selected them from hundreds of titles worldwide.
Great satisfaction for the director who was said to be enthusiastic and very happy to cross the threshold of one of the most prestigious festivals in the world.
The Italian selections for the 2008 edition were made thanks to the collaboration of Filmitalia, whose appreciation was expressed by its President, Irene Bignardi: "The presence of Anna Negri in the International competition is a sign that our independent cinema exists and knows how to make feelings universal by transforming small stories into portraits of a generation”.
Also worth mentioning,in the "Shorts Programs" section, is the Italian short Buyo, by director Andrea Fasciani.
The festival will be held January 17 – 27, 2008.
