The 10th edition of the International Film Festival- Mumbaitakes off (March 6-13). Hosted in the Indian city, located on the Western coast, better known as Bombay, the festival as it does every year, provides a broad perspective of Italian cinema. The six films presented, featured in the section “ Global Vision” are: Una ballata bianca by Stefano Odoardi, the documentary Billo, Le Grand Dakhaar, by Laura Muscardin, already familiar to the festival, having
participated in 2005, with her film “Figli di Roma città aperta”, a co-production signed with Mibac/Istituto Luce Il colore della libertà by Danish director Bille August, Médée Miracle by Tonino De Bernardi, Il mio miglior nemico by Carlo Verdone and Texas by Fausto Paravidino.
The event, scheduled to end March 13, stands out among the Indian festivals: it is the first festival to have introduced the International Critic’s Prize (FIPRESCI), is the only festival with an International Jury for the Indian films in competition and is considered the only Independent film festival in India. Each year the festival is attended by around 3000 delegates and presents 100 films from over 40 countries.
