Matteo Garrone’s Gomorra was selected by the Italian Commission as Italy’s candidate for the foreign language Oscar race. Since winning the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival in May, the film has continued to gain approval all over the world, participating in more than 15 International festivals in only 4 months. In the United States the film can count on IFC Entertainment’s major support, since it bought the film’s distribution rights for the U.S., directly in Cannes.
