The14th edition of the Pusan International Film Festival (October 8-16) announces a record presence for Italian cinema thanks to the profitable collaboration between the Festival and Cinecittà Luce - Filmitalia. Considered to be one of the most significant and committed festivals in all of Asia and supplemented by a huge Audiovisual market, the Pusan International Film Festival’s programme each year features about 300 films from around the world. European cinema in terms of attendance only runs second to Asian cinema. In this year’s edition, Italian cinema is present with 7 films, 1 documentary, 4 co-productions and a tribute to Dario Argento. Presented In Competition in Flash Forward, is first feature Cosmonauta, presented by director Susanna Nicchiarelli. The prestigious Gala Presentation will screen Io sono l'amore, presented by director Luca Guadagnino, leading actress Tilda Swinton and the film’s producers. In the World Cinema section, which shows the vast richness of this year’s Italian productions; the following films were selected Giulia doesn’t date at night, will be presented to the audience by director Giuseppe Piccioni Ex by Fausto Brizzi, Il grande sogno by Michele Placido, Lo spazio bianco by Francesca Comencini, Vincere by Marco Bellocchio and the co-productions Verso l'Eden by Costa Gavras, La polvere del tempo by Theo Angelopoulos, The Time that Remains by Elia Suleiman e Il nastro bianco by Michael Haneke. Director Alberto Fasulo will present his documentary film Rumore Bianco, in the section Wide Angle- Documentary Showcase. The major protagonist of this year’s edition is Dario Argento who will meet with the Korean audience at the Master Class ‘My Life, My Cinema’. The Festival will pay him tribute with the Hand Printing ceremony. In the Special Programs in Focus ‘Dario Argento Falling in Giallo: Truth of the Invisible’, made possible thanks to a contribution from Cinecittà Luce, the following films will be presented : L’uccello dalle piume di cristallo, Il gatto a nove code, Profondo Rosso, NonHoSonno and Giallo. From October 11-14, presiding the Asian Film Market in the umbrella space EFP (Seacloud Hotel, main office room # 0612, 6th floor), are world sales Fandango Portobello Sales and Intramovies (which for the first time ever, was granted the Film Sales Support for marketing European films at the Asian Film Market of Pusan).
