London: the Italian Film Festival

The Italian Film Festival will land in the heart of London for the whole March 2011.
Organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in London and Cinecittà Luce, the Festival presents a picture of the latest Italian Cinema productions.
This is also a rare opportunity to meet actors, directors and critics for both audience and UK film distributors.
New Italian films, mostly unseen in UK, an opening concert of Nicola Piovani and a packed programme of other events will certainly draw the curiosity and the interest of a wide variety of film, music and food lovers.
The aim of the festival is to raise awareness and promote all the various aspects of Italian cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and industry.
Co-presented with Cinecittà Luce and supported by Alitalia, the Italian Film Festival celebrates the rich cinematic tradition of Italy and will be an immersion into the Italian ways of life.
The programme will bring ten of the country’s newest directors and films selected by critics Irene Bignardi and Adrian Wootton, followed by a lively Q&A session.
After the screenings at the Cine Lumiere, the Italian Cultural Institute will be hosting a celebration of film and food, showing gourmet classics in conjunction with dishes and fine wines served afterwards.
