Italian Cinema protagonist at Busan and Tokyo

This year Busan International Film Festival (17th Edition - 4/13 October) will pay great attention to Italian Cinema, after the victory in 2011 of Là-Bas by Guido Lombardi in the Competition for new directors, Flash Forward. In 2012 will compete in this section Steel by Stefano Mordini, while in Open Cinema will be presented Pinocchio by Enzo D’Alò (together with Steel just premiered at Giornate degli Autori - Venice Days) and in World Cinema dormant Beauty by Marco Bellocchio, Ceasar must die by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, Reality by Matteo Garrone, A Special Day by Francesca Comencini and The Commander and the Stork by Silvio Soldini, world premiere. In Wide Angle Short Films will participate Cosutu n’coddu by Giovanni La Pàrola.
Italian delegation in South Korea will include directors Stefano Mordini, Enzo D’Alò and Silvio Soldini, actors Nando Paone, leading character of Reality and Alba Rohrwacher, for The Commander and the Stork and Dormant Beauty. Soldini and Rohrwacher will be protagonists of an ‘Open Air Talk’, prestigious side event of Busan festival.
Italian participation, care of Istituto Luce Cinecittà - Filmitalia, will be part of the European Film Promotion coordination. At the EFP space in the Asian Film Market, will be present, thanks to the Film Sales Support, international distributors Celluloid Dreams, Fandango Portobello, Films Distribution, Intramovies.
After one week will start 25th Tokyo International Film Festival (20/28 October), at a new start after the low-profile edition of 2011, marked by the consequences of the earthquake.
Thanks to the collaboration between the Festival and Istituto Luce Cinecittà – Filmitalia, Italian presence will be remarkable.
In Competition, the first film by Elisa Fuksas: Nina (world premiere). In World Cinema will show Reality by Matteo Garrone and Dormant Beauty di Marco Bellocchio, and Natural Tiff will premiere L’ultimo pastore, documentary by Marco Bonfanti. Tokyo delegation will include Elisa Fuksas, Piergiorgio Bellocchio, Marco Bonfanti.
In the Jury, presided by Roger Corman, will be Emanuele Crialese (pictured).
