The 13th edition of the Italian Cinema Festival in Tokyo will once again be held in the prestigious Asahi Hall situated in Tokyo’s Ginza district during the Golden Week, Japan’s time of year dedicated to special events. This year’s festival will be held over two separate weekends April 27-29, and Mary 3-6, 2013 and for the 4th consecutive year, the majority of these titles will screen in Osaka, May11-12th.
The Festival organized by Istituto Luce –Cinecittà in partnership with Asahi Shimbun, one of the five National newspapers in Japan whose circulation is over 7.96 million for its morning edition making it Japan’s second largest, the Italian Embassy in Tokyo and the Italian Cultural Insititute of Tokyo. Over the years this great event has become the major focus point for contemporary Italian film productions.
Having celebrated thirteen editions in Tokyo, over 100 Italian talents flew to Tokyo to present their films and over 30 titles were sold to Japanese distributors.
Every year, this Festival of contemporary Italian cinema attracts over 14.000 spectators and continues to be followed with great anticipation.
