Having won the Grand Prize of the Jury in Cannes, Italian director Alice Rohwacher’s THE WONDERS / LE MERAVIGLIE was honored with another important international recognition, the CINEVISION AWARD for a newcomer director at the Filmfest Munich.
The award with a purse of 12.000 Euro is sponsored by German distributor and producer SENATOR FILM.
The statement by the international jury - German director and screenwriter Pia Marais, Tribeca Film Festival Artistic Director Frédéric Boyer and producer Titus Kreyenberg – states:
"The Cinevision Award 2014 goes to 'Le Meraviglie' by Alice Rohrwacher. The film has everything we love to see in cinema: An original voice, always suprising and a wonderful cast. With a personal visual language, Alice Rohrwacher creates a precise and poetic universe of an unusual family and their struggle to survive. The film enchanted us." THE WONDERS / LE MERAVIGLIE is distributed in Germany through Delphi Filmverleih.
The Italian presence at Filmfest Munich was coordinated by Istituto Luce Cinecittà.
