In 1983, Sergio Caputo made his debut with his first LP titled Un sabato italiano (An Italian Saturday). The album was a huge critical and commercial success, becoming an evergreen of Italian popular music.
More than 40 years after its debut, the documentary Un sabato italiano is a narrative that shows Sergio Caputo trying to decide if and how to make a documentary about the record, rediscovering how fertile the cultural period in which it was born was.
Caputo talks with a production company and, accompanied by a production runner, explores the existential and artistic places of his Fellini-esque Rome, meeting and discussing with three talent-friends: Valerio Lundini, Ubaldo Pantani, and Carlo Massarini.
At the end of his wandering and vocally recalling all the elements of his personal and artistic birth, he calls "Action!" on the documentary.
