An apple tree. She is Diana, a young girl grappling with a flat which needs cleaning so she can go and live in it, and he is Agenore, a spider, no trace of a man, just a pure and simple spider. Without realising it, as she’s reading her book, Diana drops a grape, which Agenore thinks is a present for him. He wants to reciprocate the favour. No sooner said than done. There are huge spiders’ webs strung across her ceilings and insects caught and then left on her pillow while she’s sleeping - well he’s a spider after all. In the end, tired at the complete lack of any recognition or affection, Agenore sacrifices himself to the greatest good: love.
