Valentina is a Moldavian care-taker who works for Carlo, an eighty-eight-year-old partisan and one of the heads of the Communist Party in Pesaro during the Fifties. Their cohabitation alternates silence and quarrels, moments of closeness and others of distance. One lives his life through old films and pictures; the other thinks about the future, when she will be able to return home to Moldavia to her three children. The months, days and hours pass slowly, far from the hubbub of the city, as Carlo and Valentina spend their last year together.
