Selections for Rotterdam: deadline November 22nd

Istituto Luce Cinecittà is organising the Italian selection for the 48th International Film Festival Rotterdam (January 23rd - February 3rd 2019).
The Festival programmer Gerwin Tamsma will be our guest in Rome November 26th to 30th in order to select Italian films:

General Rules for Eligibility - Submission to the Festival is open to feature films, creative documentaries, experimental films (minimum length 60 minutes) and short films and innovative visual productions for digital media completed after 1 January 2018. The Festival gives priority to world and international premieres; films that have already been shown in The Netherlands are not admitted. Films previously submitted to the Festival and not selected will not be reconsidered for the 2018 Festival.

Sections:

BRIGHT FUTURE
· The Hivos Tiger Award Competition
First, second or third time directors of a feature length film, 60 minutes or longer. The film should have its World premiere in Rotterdam.
Eight films will compete in the Hivos Tiger Award Competition for a single Hivos Tiger Award worth €40,000, to be shared by director and producer. In addition, a special jury award worth €10,000 will be presented to an exceptional artistic achievement within the competition.
· Bright Future Main Programme
Debut and second features or documentaries directed by new and rising authors. World or international premieres competing for the Bright Future Award, 10.000 € to spend for the further project.
· Bright Future Mid-Lenght
Not competitive section for 10 mid-lenght films (40 to 62 minutes).
VOICES
· VPRO Big Screen Award Competition, 8 art-house movies will compete for the Big Screen Award, 15.000 € for the director and 15.000 € to spend for the theatrical release.
LIMELIGHT
Avant-premieres of some of the cinematic highlights of the year: international award-winners and festival favourites that will be released in Dutch cinemas after IFFR.
DEEP FOCUS
Signatures
New work from established makers, auteurs and festival veterans.
Regained
Drawing upon cinematic memories
PERSPECTIVE
The section where IFFR’S main thematic programme is presented is presented and relevant social and political issue are investigated in cinema.
WARSTEINER AUDIENCE AWARD
All feature length films, having received their first public screening after 1 January 2018, are eligible for the Warsteiner Audience Award, chosen by the audience of the festival. The prize comprises €10,000.

We kindly ask you to send the English subtitled DVD or Blu-ray  of the film you would like to submit with a press book not later than Thursday November 22nd 2018 to our office at the following address:
