VALENCIA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL – CINEMA JOVE aims to promote young filmmakers, subsequently limiting the Official Section participants to being under 40 years of age. Cinema Jove wants to return to the young character that gives the festival its name, by involving the organization team, the industry professionals, the audience and the filmmakers.
Cinema Jove was born as a festival dedicated to filmmaking education and quickly became a festival dedicated to young professional filmmakers, without losing sight of its original educational aspect (currently its Young Audiovisual Workshops/ Meetings/Encounters). Through the years, the Festival has served as an international meeting forum for filmmakers from all over the world, with two Official Sections (feature and short films) as well as special homages, thematic cycles, book presentations and numerous unique events, while fostering the proximity between the audience and film professionals through workshops and discussions.
Cinema Jove, attending to the technological impact in the audiovisual sector, continues including for the third consecutive year a competitive official section dedicated to web series.
There are two Competition categories:
-Feature Films
-Short Films
Films selected for the Official Competition will be eligible for the following awards:
- FEATURE FILMS LUNA DE VALENCIA for the Best Feature - 5.000 Euro. The prize shall be given to the film distributor in Spain (25.000 Euro) and the production company (10.000 Euro).
- Audience Award for the best Feature Film - 2.000 Euro
- SHORT FILMS LUNA DE VALENCIA for the Best ShortFilm - 9.000 Euro
